This describes what the software actually does. It was written from the code, not from a template, and it is short because the product collects little.
If you never create an account, Kanon stores nothing that identifies you. There is no advertising tracker, no analytics cookie and no visitor profile. Arrivals are counted as a plain number per day, with no identifier attached, so the count cannot be turned back into a visit.
If you create an account, Kanon stores four things: your email address, which is also your identity here; a hash of your password, never the password itself; the markets you have armed and the sensitivity you chose for each; and a session token in a cookie so you stay signed in. The cookie is strictly necessary for signing in and is used for nothing else.
Your approximate country is derived from your IP address to decide which venues may be shown as a destination rather than as a reference price. The lookup happens on our server against an offline database. Your IP address is not stored for this.
The price record you keep in the CLV tracker never leaves your browser. It is held in local storage on your own device. Kanon cannot read it, does not receive it, and could not produce it if asked.
No payment details — if you subscribe, the checkout is handled by our payment provider and card details never reach this site. No positions, no balances, no venue credentials. Kanon places no orders and holds no funds.
Account email — confirming your address, signing in, resetting a password — is sent because you asked for it. Market alerts are sent only for markets you armed, and every one of them carries a one-click unsubscribe. Unsubscribing stops the alerts and leaves your account intact.
An account that is never confirmed is deleted automatically within a day. Otherwise your data is kept while your account exists. Ask us to delete it and we will.
Our email provider, in order to deliver the messages above, and our hosting provider, which runs the servers. Nobody else. Kanon does not sell data and has nothing to sell.
